Ponce Inlet sits on a narrow strip with the Atlantic on one side and the Halifax on the other, and there's nowhere else we work where salt goes after equipment this hard. It shows up on the condenser first: coil fins corroding from the outside in, cabinet panels and screws giving up, contacts pitting inside the electrical compartment. That said, you're not stuck replacing constantly. Rinsing the outdoor coil with fresh water on a regular schedule genuinely extends its life, and when replacement time comes, coated coils and corrosion-resistant hardware are worth the added cost here in a way they honestly aren't ten miles inland. We'll tell you which of those upgrades matter for your house and which ones you can skip.

A lot of Ponce Inlet homes are also elevated, which changes where equipment can go. The outdoor unit often has to sit on a raised platform or stand instead of a pad on grade, and that affects line set routing, how the unit gets secured, and how easily a technician can service it later. We'd rather plan that properly at installation than work around a bad decision for the next decade.
